Saposins or sphingolipid activator proteins (SAPs) are small, nonenzymatic glycoproteins that are present in lysosomes. Due to their ability to interact with lipids and facilitate lipid-related processes, recombinant saposins, particularly saposin A, have diverse applications. Key applications include: Lipid Metabolism Studies, Drug Delivery Systems, Cancer Therapies, Biomarkers, Vaccine Adjuvants, Neuroscience and Imaging Agents.
