High-Specificity Recombinant TEV Protease for Fusion Protein Cleavage
Amid Biosciences' TEV Protease is a highly purified, 27 kDa engineered form of the Tobacco Etch Virus (TEV) protease. It recognizes the stringent seven-amino-acid sequence Glu-Asn-Leu-Tyr-Phe-Gln-(Gly/Ser) [ENLYFQ(G/S)], cleaving highly specifically between the Gln and Gly/Ser residues with minimal off-target effects.
Equipped with an N-terminal His-tag, this recombinant enzyme can be effortlessly removed from your cleavage reaction using standard Immobilized Metal Affinity Chromatography (IMAC), making it an ideal choice for downstream affinity tag removal after protein purification.
Key Features & Benefits
- High Specificity: Rigorously selective cleavage activity with virtually no non-specific proteolysis.
- Broad Operating Window: Highly active over a wide temperature range (+4°C to 30°C) and pH range (6.0 to 8.5). Optimal cleavage occurs at 30°C.
- Versatile Application: Fully compatible with both standard in-solution and on-column cleavage protocols.
- Premium Purity: Purified from E. coli via proprietary chromatographic techniques; verified at >90% pure via SDS-PAGE visualization.
