Product Overview

Staphylococcus aureus Sortase A (srtA) is a recombinant transpeptidase engineered for highly efficient, site-specific protein engineering and bioconjugation. By recognizing and cleaving a carboxy-terminal sorting signal, LPXTG (where X is any amino acid) between the threonine and glycine residues, Sortase A forms a covalent acyl-enzyme intermediate.

The terminal glycine is subsequently replaced with a poly-Glycine (Gly)n nucleophile (where n ≥ 3), enabling precise, robust attachment of a wide range of labels—including HRP, biotin, fluorophores, and custom peptides.

This product is for research use only.

Key Features & Applications

  • Site-Specific Labeling: Achieve homogenous modifications without disrupting the protein's native structure or activity.
  • Versatile Bioconjugation: Ideal for antibody-drug conjugate (ADC) discovery, peptide ligation, and cell-surface labeling.
  • Calcium-Dependent Activity: Standard catalytic activity relies on the presence of calcium ions (Ca2+).
  • Easy Purification: Features an N-terminal 6×His-tag for straightforward downstream removal if required.
